A Beautiful First Week at Deserving of Joy: Direct Primary Care

As I sit down to reflect on our very first week at Deserving of Joy: Direct Primary Care, I am filled with gratitude.
This past week was everything I hoped it would be and more. We shared long, unhurried visits in a calm, living room like space, with the time and presence to truly talk through concerns, explore goals, and care for patients as whole people. This is how family medicine is meant to feel.
Our office lab is officially up and running, allowing me to order convenient, transparent, and affordable blood work right from the comfort of the office. I was also able to care for sick patients promptly, thanks to intentionally protected schedule space designed for exactly those moments when you need care quickly and without barriers.
To my founding members, thank you for your trust, your confidence, and your willingness to learn this direct primary care model alongside me. Your support during this opening week has meant more than I can put into words.
If you have been on the fence about joining, consider this your gentle nudge. This model allows for deeper relationships, better access, and care that is centered around you, not insurance requirements or rushed timelines.
