The Baby is Sleeping Through the Night

Hi, Joyful Humans!

On July 12th, Deserving of Joy turns six months old.

As many of you know, before opening this practice, I spent months planning, renovating, furnishing, building systems, and wondering if anyone would actually show up. Opening a Direct Primary Care practice felt a little bit like bringing home a newborn. There was excitement, hope, anticipation… and more than a few sleepless nights.

Now, six months later, I am happy to report that the baby is sleeping through the night.

Well, mostly.

Over the past six months, 135 patients and family members have trusted Deserving of Joy with their healthcare. Together, we’ve celebrated healthy lab results, navigated new diagnoses, managed chronic conditions, treated illnesses, stitched up injuries, adjusted medications, laughed, cried, and occasionally solved problems over text message while standing in the grocery store.

It has been everything I hoped it would be.

One of the greatest joys of Direct Primary Care is the privilege of truly getting to know my patients. Not just your medical history, but your families, careers, hobbies, dreams, challenges, and the things that make you uniquely you. Healthcare becomes different when there is time for relationships. It becomes more personal, more proactive, and, I believe, more joyful.

As I reflect on these first six months, I am filled with gratitude.

Thank you for trusting me with your care.

Thank you for sharing your stories.

Thank you for your patience as we learned and grew together.

Thank you for believing in this vision of healthcare.

Looking ahead, I am excited about what comes next. We will continue refining systems, expanding services, improving the patient experience, and finding new ways to make healthcare feel a little more human. The foundation is strong, and the future is bright.

If you have enjoyed your experience at Deserving of Joy, I have one small favor to ask. Online reviews help other people discover a different way to experience healthcare. If you have not already left a Google review, I would be incredibly grateful if you would consider sharing your experience.

And if you know someone who might benefit from personalized, relationship-centered healthcare, please feel free to share my name. Most of our growth has come from happy patients telling friends and family about their experience, and there is no greater compliment than a referral.

Thank you for helping make these first six months so meaningful.

Here’s to the next chapter.

With gratitude,

Dr. Kristy Mount
